Can anyone tell me anything about a BF headset??

Was BF a company or a sub-brand of some larger entity? This is the second one of these I've seen (the other was installed on an early 80's Gazelle), and I'd love to know a bit more about them. Are they rare? Are they valuable? Guessing from the results of the auction I'd guess not! :-)
