I've just fitted my new (to me) 1971 Raleigh International with 52/41 chainrings
and am running a 13-28 rear cluster. Shifts wonderfully with original Campy NR
derailers.

Huh? How does the large chainring come into play here? I'm assuming that no one would try to shift into the 52/30 combination.
Are there sources for freewheels with a 30-tooth sprocket? This size seems to be much rarer than the 28.
