The date is indeed August 8th. The site is at the museum, as always. From what I have been told, there will be a pre-show ride leaving at 9 am. The show will then take place from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be numerous prizes offered in a variety of categories. While there is not going to be an official swap meet, apparently due to museum rules, I personally think that it would be a wasted opportunity if all interested CR'ers didn't bring some of the excess 'stuff' to trade or sell out of their car trunk. I will definitely be bringing some little trinkets to ogle and deal. If enough of us try the car-trunk sale (Boot sale for the Brits), perhaps we will be able to apply enough pressure on the museum management to allow the swap meet to once again become an official part of the show. Were Pergolizzi not in Italy, I would actively solicit him and the organizers to initiate another of his infamous auctions, you can't find a better draw than that!

With enough participation, I think that Larz could go beyond the present one-day format and develop into a third annual vintage lightweight bike weekend. I think that Larz is an opportunity not to be missed for the people in the North East (and beyond). After Le Cirque du Cyclisme, many listmembers were expressing near-withdrawal-like symptoms, so this is just the fix to keep you alive until Chuck's Pasadena event in October. Just imagine, le Cirque in May in North Carolina, Larz in August in Boston and Chuck's event in October in Pasadena.

For those of you who, like me, are a bit too far to make the round-trip drive for a one-day event, check out the airfare. Flying with Southwest from Philadelphia to Manchester, NH (not that far away!), I have been able to get a ticket for well under $100. Add in a rental car and a hotel room and you still get off quite cheaply and get a memorable weekend get-away. Maybe just the way to get your spouse or significant other to get involved in the hobby.

Let's all get behind this event and make it shine.
