Subject: [CR]Brake Lever Position - Weinmann & GB?

Ahoy! Immediate situation involves circa early '70's Weinmann Vanquer brakes, GB "Map of England" bars and, small hands (date of manufacture confidential)

It has been many years since building with those components and I've forgotten that setting brake levers for comfort on the hoods and accessability in the drops is a practical impossibility where compromise minimises the difficulties but does not resolve them. So, how does one resolve the problem? I am wondering if shorter lever bodies and bars of a different bend would provide remedy. Were shorter lever bodies were available for Weinmann? What of GB or other Brit. manufacturer bars with a modest (ie: less busty) bend? Thanks. Regards, Richard Cielec Chicago, Illinois
