Spray lube and /or an aluminum shim works nicely.

My GB bars and stem (1972 Raleigh) have suddenly started creaking under moderate loads. Sounds like it's coming from the bar clamp bolt. I've tightened it about as much as I dare and no change.

Any solution? Does the creaking indicate imminent failure?

Thanks for any input.
