Subject: [CR]Classic tandem/project needs new home

My mother-in-law has a Sears tandem to give away. I guess it is circa 1970. I asked Elise how old it is and she did not know. Then I asked her if she were bigger or smaller than 4. Bigger. Bigger or smaller than 12? She responded, "That would be about when Mom bought it from Sears."

The frame is a double Dutch - mixte (sort of) back. Wheels are 26 inch (559) with steel rims and 1x3/8 tires. I am not sure if it is a 3 speed, single speed or 2 speed. Rear brake is a coaster brake. Front is a long reach side pull. The bike is probably all original including "elephant ear" front handlebars. The bike is dirty and rusty, but would look fine with a thorough cleaning, new tires, and new chains.

If I had room for it and time to clean it/restore it, I would. But I do not have the room or the time. This would be a great cruiser for the beach. Free to whoever wants it. The tandem is located in North Hollywood, CA.

If interested, please contact me.
