Well, here is a 3rd alternative that I just thought about. Why not simply buy TA cyclotourist inner chainring, mark some bolt holes, drill them, and then cut off the inner part of the spider (or maybe save them to use as a quadrilizer.)

Has anyone used this approach to making unusual aluminum BCD chainrings ?? This would allow somebody to make any ring up to size 52T, according to SJSCycles.

Is this another reason to keep TA Cyclotourist cranksets still in production ?? Because the TA Cyclotourist inner ring is the "mother of all chainrings" ??
