Carlsbad Masi's were by production 120mm unless by special order, they had lots of 120mm hubs to use. At least to 1977. Italian bike's ? My 1973 is 120mm fwiw, 1979 is 126..

Starting in 1974 local racers started to want 6 blocks, very few frames or bikes came with 125mm . As John Howard stated in an Competitive Cycling interview in 1973, if I recall correctly, 52th chainrings and 14t cogs just don't cut it....

Regarding Matteo's, if you are going to ride it, then how about a Non stock ultra 6, & save the Everest 5 for show. You get six w/o a long term commitment.

And yes, we spread a few... in the day, always clamp the seat stay bridge.
