This may have been already addressed so my info might be old news by now, but I think there was a question from a list member about locating chrome tape to restore a bike.

I just purchased a roll of "Guardian Stripez" from a local auto parts store (Advance). It's produced by a company called Chroma. It's a bright chrome tape that comes in a roll 8 inches by 4 feet for applying to the sides of a car. It's a really thin material about the same thickness of a decal and has a peel away backing. With the backing in place, it can be cut to any size or shape with a razor blade or exacto knife. The cost was about $10.

I replicated an old decal by putting the chrome tape on the bike and then printing the decal on inkjet decal paper and applying it over the chrome tape.
