Morgan:
It's not really a naive question IMO - brake lever hoods are one of the most common wear items on vintage bikes, but are often difficult to find as NOS replacement parts.
Bicycle Classics has NOS Modolo 919 and 920 in gum, Euro-Asia generics in black, and Campagnolo shield logo and world logo in gum as well. Any of these will fit Record / Super Record levers or their many clones.
There are other options as well, as Don mentioned in his response. The A'ME hoods, for example, came in some pretty wild colors, if you want to go totally mod....

I've searched the archives, saw bickering about ninnies who need perfect bikes but don't ride them, but no answer to the question: Where do I get replacement Campagnolo gum hoods? What are my options for finding hoods that basically look right on a '60s or '70s Campy-equipped bike?
I see brake levers with hoods go by on ebay that basically look right, but I wonder how well they'll stand up to riding, or changing hoods.
Anyway, sorry if this has been hashed out, I just couldn't find it. What are the options for replacing Campagnolo gum hoods, if not with OEM replacements, than with something that basically looks right and works well and wears well?
Anybody got a set of 1983-ish Record brakes in great shape they'd sell? Need 1974-ish as well while I'm being greedy. :)
