Chuck: Your comments have increased my already enourmous amount of confusion and ignorance. I understand you are saying that flex in the rear stays is non-existent or insignificantly minimal. OK. So, why do people think / feel longer stay bikes (touring etc...) are more sluggish than shorter stay bikes (race)? Wind-up, less agile....
