I'm looking for a hanlde bar mounted water bottle holder, possibly more than one. I'm willing to buy right out or trade. Could also be interested in bottle cages for brazeless frames.

+++++++++++++ Well, Marc, in my experience there is good news and bad news. I remember only two basic types of bar-mount cages from the Olde Days (the Early Plastic Bottle Era). The Schwinn-type ("Sprint") with a spring clip essentially came with the worlds most quick-acting auto-rust finish. And with self-shedding springs. The Good Guys liked TA, which takes longer to rust and has no moving parts, but is also scarce by now. The good news (?) is that for "riders" there are modern adapters (Minoura?) for regular bottle carriers.

On which note, if you don't mind a bit of funk, for tube-mounts you can use about anything that looks right, and tie it on with small-width "radiator" screw clamps. That was the "factory" spec for the Hi-bottles, so it must be ok. :-) I'd recommend protecting the paint with a bit of surplus handlebar tape.
