Hello everyone. My name is Raymond Dobbins. I live in Miami, Florida. I was an active cyclist and collector from 1985 to 1997, when I went on inactive status. During my active years I accumulated a large stable of road bikes, mostly Italian, and mostly from the 70's and 80's, with Colnago being my favorite marque.
Due to recent changes in my life (divorce, smaller house, less money), I am selling off part of my collection. In the process of selling, I recently came across this list, which I have been enjoying so much that I am on the verge of actually riding again! At least I am finally getting around to cleaning my bikes and photographing them (real baby steps here).
I would like to offer the bikes I am selling to the members of the list, but I don't want to do it in my introductory post because I don't think that would be in good taste, and I do want to make a good first impression. So I'll do it tomorrow (much more tasteful and appropriate, don't you agree?). In the meantime, if anyone wants to get a jump on this, feel free to email me at rdobbins2003@yahoo.com for a list of the bikes and prices.
In closing, and in order to lessen any unfortunate commercial aftertaste this introduction may provoke, I will now contribute to a recent list topic, "Saronni." Here it goes:
Colnago also referred to one of their frame colors as Saronni Red - the color of the bike Beppe Saronni rode when he won the World Road Championship in the 80's.
Well, that's it. I'm all out of material. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you.

PS - Additional new member profile material.
The bikes I have in my collection:
1. Cinelli Laser (No. 024) 2. Cinelli Super Corsa 1982 3. Colnago Mexico Oro (not sure of the age, but I know the color is Saronni red ;-), with gold plating) 4. Colnago Oval CX 5. Conago Essa Mexico 6. Colnago Super 1970's 7. Colnago Master Equilateral 8. Colnago DuAl 9. Colnago Carbitubo 10. Ciocc San Cristobal 1978/79 11. Guerciotti International 1978/79 12. Paletti Crono 13. Casati Goldline 14. Bianchi Centenario 15. Bottechia Equipe 16. Eddy Merckx Corsa (Molteni Replica) 17. Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra (7-11) 18. Medici Pro Strada 19. Paramount 50th Anniversary
The bikes I had but sold:
20. Colnago Arabesque (too small, needed money for other bikes) 21. Cellini (same as above) 22. Cinelli Super Corsa 1972 (just plain needed money) 23. Colnago Master (saa) 24. Eddy Merckx Grand Prix (saa) 25. Tommasini Velocista (gorgeous, but too stiff even for Cippolini - and I needed money) 25. Guerciotti Track (fell out of love with it after I fell hard with it at the track - and...you got it, I needed money) 26. Vitus 787 (Sean Kelly retired - and it was too small) 27. Cannondale 2.8 (I bought it before a cycling trip to Italy, thinking I could sell it or trade it while there, but I couldn't give it away - and I couldn't get rid of a really annoying creaking sound emanating from the seat lug)
The ones I didn't count:
28. Santana tandem, Columbus tubing, filet brazed (my ex-wife got it)
29. Motobecane Gran Record (I'm not sure why I never remember to include it as part of the
collection - definitely not an anti-French thing though)
30. Vitus 787 (It's my ex-wife's)
31. Mercian (model unknown - gorgeous fancy lugs and paint job, but it's my ex-wife's)
32. Zeus frame and fork (very plain and scruffy condition. I never got into Zeus - maybe I should?)
33. Colnago Mexico frame and fork (too small, I bought it in Italy just for the Campy SR fully pantagraphed gruppo that came with it)
The one that got away:
A gorgeous Colnago Arabesque, 56 c-c, metallic light blue, with matching Colnago 30th Anniversary Campy SR gruppo.
The ones that I lust for:
Cinelli Laser, track model, in metallic light blue to match my road Laser
Mercian like my ex-wife's (see 31 above), in 56 or 57 c-c
