If I lost mine, and another was available in decent shape for $400, my wallet would be out before my eyes had a chance to blink. (Though I still pine for my red, white and blue one.) A mint pre-team colors version ('72-73) went for $900 on eBay a couple years ago.
Go for it, it's a nice bike, fun to ride and a real head turner. They ride great on the road. I snuck mine out of the house for a 30-mile ride sans brakes earlier this year. It was a hoot!
