Subject: [CR]New Here & REW Reynolds ?

Hi: My name is Larry Routt. I am new to the list due to listing my Frejus serial Number on the list. I have a number of classic bikes including the Frejus which I purchased new in 1962. I also have a Falcon San Remo, a Dawes Galexy (a great ride incidently), a Davidson, a Gitane, and others hidden away in my garage. I first started riding seriously on a Raleigh Clubman about 1958. I rode it from Louisville, Ky. To Detroit, Mich. with my wife driving along for support. The purpose of the trip was to meet with Gene Portuesi owner of Cyclo-Pedia to see about purchasing a 10 speed touring bike. I still have the Catalogue and price list dated July 1958. The catalogue cost me $1.00 and is titled second edition At the time his best bike was a Rochet 12 speed model at $200.00. Sorrowfully I did not buy and continued to ride the Clubman untill 1962 when I purchased the Frejus through Highland Cycle in Louisville, Ky.

Enough history. The question. I have a beautiful chrome frame REW Reynolds. Serial #1353. I would like to restore it. Can anyone tell me anything about it. It is Reynolds 531 tube. Headbadge and downtube have decal REW Reynolds 159 Wellingbrough Rd. Northampton.

Thanks,
Larry Routt
