Greetings All.

VeloSwap San Francisco is fortunate to again have our own Jan Johnson as Marketing Director to coordinate the SF event. This year looks really cool with a "Legends of Frame building" event Friday night (Brian Baylis is a speaker), VeloSwap and Vintage Bike Expo all day Saturday ($200 cash prize for Best in Show), NorCal/So.Cal. Classic/Vintage Corral again this year (10x20 booth), dinner in the City Sat. night, and vintage ride in Marin County on Sunday, meeting at American Cyclery at 10AM.

(now my bit)

Last Year, Brian Baylis, Chuck Schmidt and Brian Ignatin joined me in a

road trip up to San Francisco for this event. Hilarious stories came out

of that trip. The swap was great-everyone got something! All sorts of SF area CR list and other vintage riders we there. We also displayed several Masi and Cinelli bicycles and drew scores of visitors. Too bad we

couldn't clone them or we'd have sold each one 10 times. Charles Andrews &

Carmen Tunis joined us up there to complete the SoCal contingent. After

the swap we had dinner in the city....we drove to it like a scene out of 'Bullet' ....you haven't lived until you've caught 'air' in your wife's Honda Odyssey minivan...Dinner was awesome....the drive back through the city a bit more sedate. The Vintage ride on Sunday was triple cool as we

were able to join and talk with our NorCal cousins. The ride itself is an

epic 'Tour de Force' rolling through Golden State Park & its neighborhoods,

the Presidio, over the Golden Gate Bridge, and then through some of the most

picturesque towns in Marin finally stopping in Tiburon. We sped back with

eminent rain approaching but managed a stop and purchases at "A Bicycle Odyssey". back over the bridge in misting rain and then to American Cyclery.

It couldn't have been more cool!!! We dried off and than headed south with Jan and Peter to dinner at some pseudo famous and nifty kinda place I can't remember the name of. I have nothing to do with the event other than that I have been to it. It's well worth the trip!! Please contact Jan Johnson if you have questions!!! (650-704-8469) picabo58@earthlink.net
