Ken, et al, I've often told my friends the same thing - but it may have been someone else who posted the comment to the CR list. Anyway, when I visited the LeJeune "factory" in 1984 I was surprised that _absolutely_ no frames were built there and this seemed to be the case for the entire history of the company. But I can tell you that at the time, _all_ their frames were painted there, which may be why LeJeune bikes from several different contractors share the same shade of red. (Do any of you own LeJeunes in a different color? We saw a few different colors at the factory but all the LeJeunes I've seen inthe USA have been red. Still, I know some of you have seen even more of these bikes than I.) What I have found puzzling is the different LeJeune insignias. It hasn't been exactly consistent. Perhaps what you got was dependant on what was in Monsieur Marcel LeJeune's desk at the time. Maybe there have been several suppliers of decals, too? I can tell you that in a number of discussions over the course of a 2 or 3 days, neither Monsieur LeJeune nor his factory director (Frédéric, whose last name I've forgotten but it was of Eastern European origin) seemed overly concerned about the style of the insignias as long as the name "LeJeune" was prominently placed and sufficinetly large. Eventually, I'll get some scans of photos for Dale to get onto the CR Web site. Amitiés, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia
