First of all I can't post pics yet so I'll have to describe the problem:
Each rim has a very small "flattened" area on the opposite side of the valve hole. There are no cracks, fissures or other apparent defects. The amount of flattening is within one pair of spokes and is very minute but it is enough to effect tubular mounting and adhesion and probably overall ride quality. Interestingly, all but one spoke on each rim look fine.
My local bike shop told me nothing could be done but I don't think those guys really know their vintage stuff--or care for that matter.
I eventually will get a pair of clincher wheels, but since the Martanos came with the Condor, I'd like to keep them and ride them some more.
Any advice, suggestions and/or links to shops/wheel mechanics that could round out the rims would be appreciated!
Oh, and as to how they got in that condition: Lets just say sloppy garage storage and even sloppier car handling inside said garage and leave it at that......:(
