Yes Joe, the Michelin Elan was an unmitigated disaster of a tire. And the replacement Michelin Bib TS (I think that's what it was called) was no better.

I remember here in SoCal around 1976 everyone was riding tires from that little upstart company called Specialized or Mitsubishi tires (?). Nobody would touch Michelin after the Elan disaster.
