Given the extensive photo documentation, the fact that the graphics seem to have been deliberately excluded from any of the close-ups might indicate that there's something to that.

If one wants a desirable Bianchi of that era that looks pretty, it seems that restorations are pretty much all there is. Very few (perhaps none!) seem to have survived in very good or better original condition. The Italian restorations I've seen on *bay don't generally seem as compulsively correct as ones done by or for listmembers in the US.
