Shocking, but not too surprising. :-( It may not be greed of the seller but greed of the federal postal system Have him shop around.

Check out Canada Post rates http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/rates/default-e.asp They tend to be brutal on larger packages.

Other carriers such as FedEx may be considerably cheaper.
