I have a frame and fork that I would like help in identifying. All that remains of decals are remnants of the Reynolds 531 on the fork and tiny bit on the seattube. It appears to be of quality build, Italian, I assume, because it had an Italian headset and bottom bracket.
The numbers I can discern on it are "15" on the fork and "72" on the bottom bracket. There are couple of other markings under the bottom bracket, but I cannot decipher what they are, even with the help of a magnifying glass. The components which were on it indicate it was from the sixties.
It does, however, have some distinctive markings, or at least distinctive or unique to me: the fork crown has a hole on either both sides of where the front forks would join, like early Colnagos, but the same number of them; the bottom bracket has one row of three holes that look like elongated ovals, a row of four holes, and another row of three elongated ovals. The extensions of the bottom bracket lug also have the holes in them; the seattube and headtube lugs have diamond cutouts in them; the brake bridge has one hole for mounting the brake and one hole on either side of that hole that are only on the outside facing of the bridge (what would these other holes be used for?). The only braze-on is a rear derailleur stop; it has Campagnolo horizontal drop-outs without eyelets and derailleur hanger.
For the truly curious, I have jpegs.
As always, thank you for your knowledge and information.
Cheers.
