Brad,

Do you have the one with a freckle-faced Red headed girl on the cover riding a small green Wizard bike (look for the "moon and stars" head tube badge) on the cover? I think she's wearing and early style white helment also. Let me know. It will be post 1974, I believe.

I bought a complete set of Bike World magazine (1972 to 1980) last month and they just arrived. I haven't even finished browsing all the pictures yet, but they're full of cool stuff, for example:

A nice photo of the Carlton carbon-fiber bike from 1972 which was mentioned last week. Carlton feel that the carbon-reinforced plastic material has a future in bicycling!

Tons of Joe Kossack articles on equipment and framebuilding.

A roadtest directly comparing Merckx's bike to Coppi's bike.

A half-page Pino Moroni ad.

Zeus ads that I had never seen before.

A picture of Michel Pollentier (sp?) on a Splendor team bike with a clover on the headtube (I always wondered who made the Splendor bikes).

Plus a generous dose of the stuff I grew up with: racing photos of long-haired hippies with sideburns on groovy drilled-out bikes! I'm in the midst of a headlong plunge into what my college buddies used to call "BIKE MADNESS".

Sun up? Already?

As a side note, the first 5 years of the collection are in such immaculate untouched condition that the simple magnitude of their integrity is a shock.

Anyway, if someone yearns for info from Bike World, I can probably find it.
