I'm a new member on the list so please excuse my unfamiliararity with the way things are done here. I live close to work and therefore commute by bike whenever I can. I also admire the workmanship and funk factor of vintage bikes so I collect them as well. I'm especially partial to higher-end english and to a lesser extent american and french.
I recently acquired a Stella that has a '73 Campy NR gruppo (which I think is newer than the frame) . I'm in the process of refurbishing and would like to know the date of this frame but I can't find a serial number anywhere. I believe its older than the bike pictured on CR because it doesn't have any braze-ons. The stamped dropouts are Campy (Sport?). Anyone familiar with Stella? Did they make different models and how can you tell them apart? Also, there are no tubing decals except a metallic sticker on one fork blade that reads "FOURREAUX COLUMBUS". Does this sound about right or is it possible someone just stuck this on.
