In the FB summary box at the top of anyone's first FB page, click on the little line at the bottom of the box that says "feedback left for others." Quite enlightening in some cases. (I don't think that they've moved it with the new FB format, but I haven't specifically checked yet). You can also check ID history (if they change their ID 2-3 times per year consistently, that's a very bad sign IMO). You can also see bid retraction history - some folks are good at abusing that feature of eBay. These are additional tools that you can have in your (somewhat limited) arsenal as a buyer on eBay. They are there, but eBay doesn't really advertise all of them widely, and for good reason - they only care about one thing - their pocketbook. Anything else that they may say is pure boilerplate, which is something they are Grand Masters at!
