You may be on to something with the Rhodesian Chrome reference,'cause that's
not Rhodesian chrome,it's Rhodium,which is a hard"white"plating used on
jewelry and watch parts.Some chrome snobs complain because it presents kinda
blue instead of kinda yellow.The real point here is that it is nowhere near
as toxic as chrome plating.You would still be doing well to polish your own
parts.After that you present them to an industrial or jewelry plater for
Rhodium,and everything's much easier.
Brian Bayliss' method of polishing is exactly what a fine mechanic
(e.g.watchmaker)or jeweler would do.They go to elaborate lengths to preserve
shape,detail,and corners.
So forget Chrome.It ain't worth the grief.
