Maurice Bresnahan and I again are working with the Larz Anderson Museum of Transporation to put together year #8 of the Larz Anderson Bike Show. We are back to our August time slot, with the show on Sunday August 9th. Just one disclaimer: Apparently the word still is going around that the Museum was responsible for cancellation of the Flea Market aspect of the show. The Museum had little if any to do with this, as it mostly had to do with the town and politics within the town of Brookline, and the local Police Department. The Museum has always been a great proponant of the show and will continue to be.
Much will be planned for the show this year, including a possible lectures, a ride day of show for both vintage and modern bikes. It looks like we will have stunt exhibitions at the show. More information will be available later on, as plans for the event are finalized. Last years Concour was probably our best since year #1.
Our website will up soon with lists of hotel accomodations, directions to the MOT and more. We are all looking forward to a great show again this year with a new program format.
As for swap meets, I will be in touch with a group who useto help out with the swap at Larz, as last year they held a flea market at a new location on Connecticutt. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the swap last year, but all reports were that it was a great first year, and I'll post more information about the possible date of this years swap.
