I always thought that Polychromatic (poly- derives from the Greek word for many) was something like I have on a Raleigh Competition which is painted a mid-blue metallic over a red base so that the appearance is blue but at some angles in some lights it takes on a redish hue. This seems to better justify the poly- label than a single color metallic. If you would like own it yourself, this nice 59cm 531c Worksop built frame is for sale at $140 plus shipping.
