Ray,

I remember building at least two of these when I worked at a Schwinn shop in the '70s. A very nice machine as I recall, but it never really lit my fire. Perhaps it was because it was the same color as many LeTours, or perhaps it was the closet racist within decrying anything Japanese. I am pretty sure that if such a bike had come from Italy, I would have been down on bended knee before it. I often reflect on the reasons why I was so willing to defend antiquated designs when more advanced technology was streaming in from the East, and at much better prices.

Nothing we build out of aluminum and steel has anything resembling a soul, so I don't really know why I was attracted to some bikes, while disdaining better ones. I'm working on it though. By spring, I hope to have enough parts to build a Dura Ace EX bike and, by crackers, I'm gonna ride it.

\r?\n> I have been keeping my eye out for one of these for a long time. I rarely

\r?\n> if ever see one. Not on ebay, not in the collectors circle, not on the

\r?\n> road. This leads me to believe that they are pretty scarce. To bad, the

\r?\n> one I did happen to see some time ago was a beautiful pearlescent orange

\r?\n> with chrome lugs. It was decked out with some nice Campy stuff also. I was

\r?\n> just wondering how many are out there among this group. I did see one on

\r?\n> the CycleArt web site some time ago. I believe it was for sale, shame, I

\r?\n> should have grabbed it then.
