Subject: [CR]Unmissable Items Worth Purchasing

Mick, When one of those Armstrongs shows up in my size, I'll buy it. My first "good" bicycle was an Armstrong - purchased in 1965 and stolen (next to the Kissena Park velodrome) in 1971. By then, it was my "spare" bike. Anyway, one advantage of living in an immigrant neighborhood and having relatives in the retail bike trade was that my parents avoided to typical Sshwinn/Raleigh shops. In the case of that Armstrong, we bought the bike at a cousin's pram-and-bicycle shop in the Bronx. (I don't think tht sort of store exists anywhere in the US any longer.) Anyway, Colin Powell actually worked for my cousins during the 1950s although of course I was much too young then to have any recollection of him. By the way, I'll try to remember to pack up "Six Day Bike Rider" for mailing off to you... Cheers, Fred
