Now that Cinelli frame dating has come up as a topic
again, I have a question as to the Cinelli Registrys
status. http://www.petry.org/markp/cinolog.htm
I recently tried to contribute my small portion to the
common knowledge by logging my late-60s/early 70s
Speciale Corsa frameset (#4310) with the Registry. I
e-mailed the proprietor with my information, and
specifically asked for a response back, but after two
months plus there has been no answer, and my frameset
info has not appeared on the site. And so Im
wondering where things stand with the Cinelli
Registry. Some people have told me that the Registry
is in sleep mode and is no longer updated. Im also
told that various CR list members, including Richard
Bulis, have observed the static nature of the Cinelli
Registry and have been amassing data independently.
>From what I understand, Richard (who is also seeking
photos of peoples Cinelli bikes and framesets) is
willing to contribute his information to the common
weal (or should I say wheel) should the Registry
awaken out of its apparent Rip Van Winkle-like state.
I just hate to think that Cinelli data may be floating
out there in cyberspace without a central docking
station. Dont get me wrong---The Cinelli Registry is
a great resource and a marvelous effort, and I know
people have things going on in their lives which are
more pressing than updating vintage bike
websites---Im just hoping the site is soon made
current and becomes even more useful. If anyone knows
of the sites status, please enlighten me.
