I recall these as being silver and quite fragile. ---------------------------------------------------------- Feeling kind of sheepish with out giving more definitive info, so I went down to see my tool stash and found my ZEUS splined remover. Yes, it has thinner walls than the other Regina splined remover, but is no less durable as far as I can tell. I have put it through some extremely knarly circumstances and can clearly say that the "wear" or portion deformed by stresses has been the wrench contact surfaces, (I used a cresent wrench before I got a vice, yes am stupid). The spline contact area is fine, smiling and totally intact. I have no idea what type of steel it is made out of, but I have used it pretty regularly since '87 with no problems. cheers- Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT

p.s. I have a wooden mallet that I got in 87 as well and its still in one piece, and you should see what I have used that for! p.p.s. bailing wire has some pretty scary uses, but it was invented before duct tape.
