When I first saw this photo, I thought it looked kinda strange to see a major tour TT being ridden on what already looked like retro hubs. Is this another example of an "extreme situation?" Why would these have been the hub of choice for this TT? Obvious answer would be greater stiffness for an effort in which every watt counts, but were these used commonly for time trials as late as '85, or was Millar just being different? Did some Spanish team pilfer his regular time trial wheels the night before?
