I have an 83 San Marcos GC sold to me on ebay by a listmember a few years ago. When I bought it, just before joining the list myself, I had no idea that the maker would turn out to be be a listmember. In email discussions and after seeing the pics, Dave Tesch told me it was definitely his work. It has an SR groupo, not 50th Anniversary, and is a yellow 54cm GC. Bob, I may have sent you the original ebay pics of mine in the distant past, but I am clearly not skilled or competent enough to tell you if Tesch was the likely builder of the recent one on ebay-just suggesting the possibility given the year of 83. If your size is 54 or 55 (as I think I recall your saying) I can tell you there is some toeclip overlap on the 54cm. Mine is a box-54cm, 54 top tube.
"Now for something closer to on-topic... does anyone have any comments about the $4,000+ price paid for a San Marcos Masi GC this weekend? Any idea who built it, I'm thinking David Moulton had left by this time... Joe Starck maybe?
