My guess is that the seller is having a bit of a reverse auction, and/or fishing for offers. Offered @ $4000 with no takers, now at $3.3K. Probably no takers again? Then it might be offered closer to whatever "real value" is.

It is a nice bike, and I would be very interested @ $1000, but likely there might be others more interested and willing to pay more than me.
