I would say 1970, there is not any pedal made of alloy (aluminum) cage with toe strap loop (is there?). And, I have a set made of black anodized alloy with larger opening as steel (w/ toe strap loop), but Campy discontinued very quickly. I suppose they did not hold up. About same time, caps turned inot "plastic" material (with chrome finish).
