Subject: [CR]Was Schroder made by Montelatici

A year or so ago, listmember Harris Spracher sent me some pictures of his Schoder with a note that it was "very Italian". We wondered who had built it. Having now seen the pictures of the Montelatici that Matteo offered today and reviewing the Montelatici website, I am almost sure that Harris's Schroder was made by Montelatici. The dropout & fork treatment, seatstay caps, binder bolt & seatstay attachment, lug cutouts, & bb cutouts were almost identical. The two different features of the Schroder, compared to the Montelatici, were thru the chainstay cable routing for the rear derailleur cable and an M in a shield on the fork crown. I didn't see those two features on any of the Montelatici bikes shown on the site. Interestingly, one of the only Italian heritage bikes I've seen with the through the chainstay cable routing was a Confente. Does anyone else have any idea whether or not Montelatici might have built for Schroder? Does anyone know of another Italian builder that had an M in a simple shield on the crown? The shield shape is not too much unlike the Campagnolo shield. Unfortunately, I don't have digital pictures of Harris's Schroder. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
