Hi All,

I have recently acquired a beautifully restored/repainted/rechromed 1960/1961 Carlton Flyer Frame and Fork (thanks, Hilary!).

It has track forks in the rear, but is drilled for brakes on both ends, and has pump pegs under the top tube. Also, front and rear fender brazeons. The fork has more of a road rake than a track rake.

Was this a track bike that was meant to be ridden on the road for training during the week? I could see fenders for an outdoor track, but why the pump pegs?

I have some experience in building up road frames, but have no idea how to faithfully build up a track (?) frame.

I will be riding it on the road (in Central PA). So, what suggestions do you have? Wheels? Cranks? Brakes? Flip flop rear hub, or NO!? Appropriate saddle suggestions (I also bought from Hilary an NOS Ledie from the 50s/60s - would this be appropriate?)? Pedals? Bars and Stem? Seat post? (yes, I know that I will need all of these items, I just want to know what kind!).

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.
