After feasting my eyes on a few fine fillet-brazed frames, including the Gillott L'Atlantique, Jack Taylor curved-tube, and a Jack Taylor Tandem built of Reynolds OS tubing, and a contemporary Eisentraut, I gotta say, with the right finish, a lugless frame can be a work of art too. The Jack Taylor tandem I recently got together is not only a thing of beauty, it is one finely-designed piece of gear. Very stiff, goes where you think..high performance stuff ca. 1982.
And, fwiw, I doubt any of those aforementioned frames are going to be breaking any time soon.
