I think that I first heard of R.E.W. Reynolds Cycles (159-161 Wellingborough Rd, Northampton NN1 4DX, phone 30586) from Ralph Galen, cycle tourist and bon vivant of Boston. At the time ('68 - '72) we lived in Providence. Prior to the bike boom here, Mr. Reynolds was a wonderful source for all the parts we had trouble with getting here. Had a friend with oversized feet. Shoes: Reynolds. Pedals: his suggestion was perfect: Lyotard Berthet platforms, and let the toes hang over. Odd TA chainrings, and whatever else we needed. I've only seen a couple of his frames (know where a lovely touring bike in a 54 or 55 is now; will be for sale in a few months), but I always had the sense that they were made up for his shop, but outside. Our whole (tiny) community felt that he was an essentially irreplacable resource, and a great friend.
Checking the files, I still find a note from him re a shipment, from 1977. And an invoice for a pair of double fixed hubs, for $5.25 plus shipping...

+++++++++++++++++++ Mark, Nick Tithecott at Lloyds Cycles has the R.E.W. Reynolds down tube trasfers. Seem to remember someone telling me they didn't make their own frames. Is this true?

I had one that needs a paint job and I'm trying to locate decals.
