Whilst I love the look of lugs, I don't like overly intricate lugs. For me, the beauty has to have a function. Each piece of metal that I add to my frames must do something. Lugs that are overly fussy just don't get my juices going the same way as a lug that's neat, crisp and beautifully executed, and perhaps a little understated.
And I agree about TIG. Whilst TIG welds are eminently practical and purposeful, they have no soul.
