There are lots of highly skilled TIG welders out there making very nice, functional stuff, but it essentially zaps tubes together relatively quickly in order to speed up the building process and minimize the QC required. That's why "everyone" does it! ***************** Would you guys (not picking on you Greg, yours was just the latest) please quit poking me with that stick? Everybody is entitled to an opinion, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that anybody who says tig welding doesn't have soul also can't weld. A builder's tig welding can be differentiated just as easily as lugs, it just that the differences are more subtle and takes a different skill/experience set to do so much like fillet brazing.

Tony had it right, IMHO. Producing fine tig welds is an order of magnitude more difficult than brazing...hmmmm, go here: http://www.anvilbikes.com/story.php?news_ID&catID=3 for the full story.
