What you have is, indeed, a Cinelli workstand, but not terribly "vintage". I have one too, and bought it new from Performance in about '88. I could probably go back through the catalogs and determine the year, but Perf probably sold them for several years anyway. I have no reason to believe that it came from anywhere other than Italy. Very nice stand, by the way. Many times better than the Park consumer stand that I replaced at the time. Mine Cinelli stand saw heavy use until a few years ago when I had the opportunity to by a Park Pro dual-head stand from a friend that closed his shop. I still like the Cinelli quick-screw clamp mechanism better that the Park lever clamp. At the Westminster swap last year (or was it the year before), I scored a Cinelli truing stand, probably from the same era, still new in the box. Not nearly as nice as my Park TS-1, but pretty cool nonetheless. It's made with a tang that is designed to hold it in a bench vise. I use it primarily to hold a wheel for service or cleaning. The truing stand is blue, but my work stand is black.
