It looks like it might be a U08. This one appears to have the QR hubs which
I think started with this model. Mild steel tubing and steel cranks. I agree
with Dale, the stem as happened to too many bikes, was raised too high and
bent forward with weight and jarring to eventually snap. OUCH!
In all fairness to the lesser expensive leather saddles, with a little care
they lasted but the rider who bought this level bike wouldn't really know
that much about that. Please note that the saddle clamp was reversed/
inverted so the seatpost got too close to the saddle top because of the
clamp position.On hard shell saddles this would lower the seat over an inch
for leg reach while a kid was growing. However, in this leather application
it would get the rider where the sun don't shine.To each his own. In its'
time, this was one of the bread and butter bikes for Peugeot. Ted Ernst.
