In 1928, Belgian rider Leon Vanderstuyft set a new World Motorpaced Hour Record of 122.771 kilometers, after which he and his pacer made a number of public appearances. One such celebrity appearance was a performance at the famous "Moulin-Rouge", where he and his pacer acted-out a competition against a (backdrop) railway engine. The act was extremely popular.
