i have all the catalogs that go from the early 70s through to the next decade. most are scanned and on mark b's site. nearly all texts glommed onto the copy written in the june 71 bicycling road test in which an italian bicycle was "reviewed" by frank p using the non-de-plume* "M.T. Hamilton". i think you'll eventually agree that the catalogs were quite vague with regard to factual info. e-RICHIE chester, ct

Now that I am fully aware that the Masis made in Italy are the "real deal," what about the differences in craftsmanship between those made in Carlsbad, CA and San Marcos, CA? Were the same fixtures, tooling, lugs, etc used in both locations?

I guess of greater importance would be did the same builders move to San Marcos and continue with Masi? Or did most of them just bail and go on to start different projects?

Lastly, does anyone know of any sources of comprehensive Masi literature? I would like to find something on paper as opposed to sifting through the hundreds of posts in the archives as I have a short attention span.
