Uh, this is a bit excessive, I think (and it's not even finished yet). I sell these for $24 NOS..... Greg "whoa" Parker<<<<<<<

Damn boy. Maybe you should throw a couple of those things on eBay with, say, a starting price of $24, and see what happens. Ya never know.

Being a non-conformist by nature, I use an OFMEGA "peanut butter" wrench, which brings me to my question. The Ofmega wrench, unlike the Campy one-piece design, uses a two piece construction method, whereby the 15 mm "socket" is a separate piece affixed to the handle with a spring clip. Does this mean that there were other size "sockets" that could be interchanged? Is anyone familiar with this wrench and it's variables? Also, I suspect that the wrench was really for crank bolts, or maybe and/or axle nuts. Does anyone know? Was Campy's PB wrench originally intended as a tool for axle nuts or just another one's of Campy's multi-use tools?

Just curious. I can't help it. Sort of comes with the territory when you're a "tool guy".

Wayne Bingham Lovettsville VA ------------------------------

Hi Wayne: It's a BB spindle bolt / crank arm puller wrench (note the Campy # is 769, which is after the chainring nut spanner (#768) and the 5mm "pregnant" Allen wrench (#767), and right before the crank puller (#770). The official name is "cotterless spindle end bolt spanner." (Note to all - it's for BB spindles, not BB "axles," neener, neener, neener...). ;-) It just happens to make a great track axle nut tool / jamming tool / peanut butter sammich maker also! Greg "ooh yeah, we're jammin,' and we 'ope you like jammin' too" Parker Dexter, Michigan (Too much sugar from Holiday baked goods on my part, perhaps....).
