Hopin' this postin' has clearance on CR...
Just bought a pre-Ritchey fork crown RB-1...judging from the serial number, probably a 1989; (but guessing/judging, you know).
The frame & fork are solid navy-blue, decals white, no tubing decals, no
panels in 'tusk' or 'ivoire'; plain navy blue. Paint's a bit thick & one of
the seat-tube decals a tiny bit 'off', so I'm wondering: Stock? The
seat-stay caps & lugs 'look' right for an RB-1.
The rear drops are fixed & no braze-ons front nor back. Spacing between rear
tire & seat tube is tight; less than a finger.
>From what I've read, the pre-1990 RB-1 had a short top tube. I believe an
example test bike had a 60cm seat tube with a 57cm tt.
My RB-1 is a 58.5cm c/c seat tube with a 59cm c/c top tube.
Could this be the lost 'X' model? (just kidding).
The bike has Superbe Pro 8 speed, Mavic 501's & Campy clincher rims; a much better spec than I've read of on these bikes.
Any and all thoughts appreciated,
