16 mm. sockets are not real common where I live. On the other hand, I've yet to find a 16 mm. head that didn't act really comfortable with a 5/8" socket. 5/8" = 15.9 mm. That doesn't solve the wall thickness issue, but it's been useful for Stronglight bolts in Stronglight cranksets with the 23.35 or whatever diameter.
