Subject: [CR]MAJOR OOPS!!! My apologies to Dale

Dale and the entire list,

Major Boo Boo. I got confused and as I went backwards thru my zillions of emails, I didn't catch when this thread converted from on list to off list. Really bad mistake. To Dale, I'm sorry is have caused such a ruckus. I'm just getting home to my computer after a long day; having just sent that email off and headed to the shop. Like I lit off a stink bomb and ran away. VERY SORRY, EVERYONE. Really bonehead on my part.

Regarding what Dale said and what I said. Needless to say, there are differing opinions on this topic, upon which we may or may not agree. But two things are true, no matter what. Being honest and truthful while giving one's own OPINION, needs no apology. I'm sorry I made his private opinion known to all. Second, we all know that Dale hasn't a malicious bone in his body; so I personally don't see any reason to accuse Dale of any intent of harm.

I believe that What Dale was objecting to is the hype that is used to market bikes these days. Or any days, and in every part of every market in the world. Marketing IS KING, trust me! Some of us take offence to it. I believe we have a right to. I don't have time to get deeper into Marketing vs Reality; but it's a serious subject. Can be a sensitive issue, too. We have just seen an example.

So, I'm to blame. I will have to look back now and servey the damage of my comments. I'm sure it will take several hours. There, amongst now 933 emails. Crap! That's a lot!

So I guess, as JB would say; I'm wearing the "Brown Helmet" right now. No worries, it sits nice atop my Dunce Cap!

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Grumpy and overworked; that's my excuse.
